Causes I support

Here are some links to causes, both local and national, that I support in one way or another.

Causes

RiteCare Scottish Rite Childhood Language Program

The diagnoses and treatment of childhood language disorders is the premier charitable endeavor of the Ancient and Accepted Scottish Rite of Freemasonry for the Southern Jurisdiction. Research has shown that there are more children who suffer from some type of communications difficulty than from all other childhood diseases combined! With more than 200 clinics, reading centers and programs nationwide, the Scottish Rite is the largest private sponsor of communications therapy programs in the United States.

American Diabetes Association NOVA Tour de Cure

Virginia Masonic District 2 Lodges cooperate every year with running rest stops along the 100+mile course to support riders on the American Diabetes Association's NOVA Tour de Cure.

INOVA Blood Donor Services

Helping to organize and volunteer for local Blood Drives. Coordinate between Masonic districts to have quarterly drives at a central location.

DeMolay

A Masonic Youth Organization with the following goals:

  • Developing young men between the ages of 9 and 21 into better leaders of character
  • Teaching young men to live their lives by seven core values
  • Providing young men with quality guidance and mentorship
  • Allowing young men to control and shape their DeMolay experience

Horseshoe Curve Benevolent Association

The Horseshoe Curve Benevolent Association was formed in 1998. We are a 501c3 Tax-Deductable Organization. Our causes include our local Volunteer Fire and Rescue, a $1000 Scholarship to a Clarke County Senior, Taking care of 40 Senior Citizens every Christmas, an annual Apprecation Awards dinner for our Police, Blue Ridge Center for Therapeutic Horseship and other local Needs. Membership is $10 a year. We meet on the Last Monday of the Month at 7:30 PM at the Horseshoe Curve Restaurant. All help is Volunteer. There are no paid members. All monies raised for an event go to the named event. If you want to help the local community we are the organization to join!

Blue Ridge Volunteer Fire & Rescue Co. 8

I'm not a firefighter or EMT. It's really never been one of my ambitions. But I do believe in getting involved in your community. So since I moved to the area in 2017, I've helped the company with fundraising and other activities.
